Spill No. 3
Spill No. 3 is a scale model of an oil spill, built at 80 x 120 cm. Gypsum and spackle form the coastline it has reached. PLA marks the slick where it meets the rocks, dark against the surrounding stone.
At full scale, a spill that reaches shore is measured in kilometers of coastline, cleaned one section at a time. At this scale, the whole contact line is visible at once: open water, the slick, the point where it meets land.
Part of the Spill collection. Made in Utrecht, 2026.
