I create relief landscapes. Working with depth, texture, and layering, in a magical realist manner. Landscapes that could have arisen from human actions, but do not stem from individual guilt. Nature has become the archive of our behavior.

My work originates from a fascination with contradiction, that something destructive can look beautiful. The strange thing is, I often dream these kinds of images too. Enormous, monumental landscapes that are unreal yet seem to belong somewhere. The same feelings resurface when I look at aerial photographs. Some human interventions yield amazing images, such as the color variation in an oil slick floating on water. Does this now belong to us forever?

The underlying landforms are digital sculptures that I design myself, sometimes directly from dream images, before translating them into physical material. This is followed by a self-made lightweight core to manage the works' weight, finished with stucco, acrylic pastes, natural powders, hardeners, and epoxy resin. Material research is a constant part of my creative process.

I work from my own studio in Utrecht Leidsche Rijn. For fourteen years, I professionally made miniatures for companies and clients. Since 2026, I have been working as an autonomous artist.
