Nerdy Terrarium Workshop

Build a miniature world around your favorite nerdy theme and go home with your own geeky terrarium! 

What to expect?
In three hours, you will create a complete terrarium with artist (and seasoned nerd) Stefanie Bonte. You'll learn how to build different organic layers in the glass jar so that the terrarium is self-sustaining once you close it. But most of all, there will be a lot of crafting! You'll learn simple miniature painting techniques and materials that bring tiny details to life. There's plenty of room to use your own creativity. The current collection of miniatures to choose from covers themes such as (dark) fantasy, sci-fi, witchcore, D&D, dragons, space, and Japanese aesthetics. Requests are welcome, but unfortunately, we cannot always accommodate hyper-niche requests. 

Extra tip!
You can design your own figurine(s) via the external website Hero Forge and download them as an STL file for a small fee. Provide it one week in advance, and we will print it for you at no extra cost! Please note the size: between 3 and 5 cm works best in a terrarium.

Who is it for?
This workshop is highly suitable for both beginners and experienced creative minds, preferably aged 14 and up. Experience with plants or fine painting is not strictly necessary. This workshop can accommodate a maximum of 12 participants in Stefanie's studio.

The workshop will proceed with a minimum group of 6 people.

Important to know
Stefanie's studio has air conditioning and heating and is on the first floor, there is no elevator. There is plenty of free parking and the bus to and from Utrecht Central stops within 1 minute walking distance.  The workshops can be given in both Dutch and English.
