Ravine No. 1

Ravine No. 1 is a scale model of a carved landscape, built at 30 x 40 cm. Gypsum and spackle form the walls of the ravine, cut back in layers to show how water and time widen a single channel. PLA marks the exposed rock at the base.

At full scale, a ravine is walked through one bend at a time, its full length impossible to see at once. At this scale, the whole cut is visible in a single view: the entry point, the widening walls, the sediment left behind.
