Crater No. 1

Crater No. 1 is a scale model of an impact site, built at 30 x 40 cm. Gypsum and spackle form the terrain. PLA marks the point of impact and the fracture lines that radiate from it.

At full scale, a crater is measured in kilometers and read from the ground, one ridge at a time. At this scale, the whole event sits in a single view: the impact point, the debris field, the slow erosion of the rim.
